Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) -Universidad del Norte
The Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Program has been designed by the Universidad del Norte to provide a unique opportunity for STEM students to experience academics at a prestigious Colombian institution. This program focuses on developing student's technical skills in an international environment.
The Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical and Systems Engineering programs at the UNINORTE have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
Students may also complete a research project. Students must be at the high-beginning Spanish level or higher to enroll and the project can be completed in either English or Spanish. Students will be assigned a faculty member with whom they will work to complete their research. Students will enroll in additional coursework at the UniNorte in addition to their research project.
Engineering courses are taught in English or Spanish alongside local students. Other courses are taught in Spanish alongside local students.
Courses are taught by host university faculty at the Universidad del Norte.
Students in this program can also select classes from the Spanish Language & Courses with Locals program.
Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
There is no language prerequisite for this program.
Students must submit a copy of their official passport, a profile photo, and blood type documentation along with their required application materials.
Courses and course hours of instruction are subject to change.
Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or pre-requisites.
Please note that some courses with locals have recommended prerequisite courses. It is the student's responsibility to consult any recommended prerequisites prior to enrolling in their course.
