Students will enroll in a total of 12-15 semester credits per semester in a variety of courses related to Business, Communications, Economics, Fashion & Design, International Relations, Italian Language & Culture, Media and Sociology. Some courses may require additional fees. Students who have not completed a college semester or equivalent of Italian language are required to choose Italian language as one of their courses.

In the Semester/Year 1A programs, students can take the required Italian language course as a pre-session two-week intensive course.

Students interested in the language teaching assistant program should apply for the Semester/Year 1A programs. Students will enroll in the Teachng Workshop and English Teaching Practicum worth a combined 6 semester credits.

Courses are taught in English except for Italian language courses which are available for students with a beginning through advanced level of proficiency. Language level will be detirmined by a placement exam issued by the UCSC. Students also have the opportunity to enroll in courses with locals taught in English. All courses are taught by local university faculty.

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

There is no language prerequisite for this program.

Students must have already completed two semesters of college by the program start date.

Students must be at least 18 years old by the program start date.

Students with a cumulative GPA below 2.75 may be considered for acceptance. They must also submit one letter of recommendation and a statement of purpose.
