Academic Programs in Tokyo

Students may choose from the following Academic Program options:

Academic Year

An ISA Tokyo academic year program allows students to select courses from a wide variety of fields of study allowing their study abroad experience to fit their individual academic needs. ISA Tokyo academic year programs are conducted through Musashi University with courses taught in English by host university professors. ISA students will enroll in courses alongside Japanese and international students.

Semester / Trimester

ISA Tokyo semester program allows students to select courses in the field of East Asia Studies, in addition to Beginning and Intermediate Japanese courses. Please note that the true Beginning level of Japanese course is only offered in the Fall semester.) ISA Tokyo semester programs are conducted through Musashi University with courses taught in English by host university professors. ISA students will enroll in courses alongside Japanese and international students.

Summer

A four-week intensive summer program at J.F. Oberlin offers six academic courses divided into three tracks: Business Track, Culture Track and Language Track. You can take two courses in this program. Each course will be comprised of lectures and field trips which will allow you to get a first-hand experience of Japan. Students wishing to take the Japanese language course are encouraged to learn the Japanese writing systems hiragana and katakana before the start of the program.
