Tekapo and Aoraki Mt Cook

Location: New Zealand

Located approximately three hours from Christchurch city the beautiful Lake Tekapo region famous for star gazing. Students will spend the weekened exploring the unique and beautiful scenery. Students will start the weekend off with a climb on Mt. Cook, followed by a dip in the lake, a taste of some amazing hot chocolate and night one is capped off by stargazing at the night sky and the unique constellations, while lounging in the hot springs.

Day two includes a walk to a lookout point at Tasman Glacier on Mount Cook, right be amazing almpire Lake Tasman. Students will then visit Pukaki Lake, the setting of Lake Town in The Hobbit. On this overnight excursion students will discover a glimpse of the majestic South Island landscape and what makes this area so unique to New Zealand.
