University of Stirling

Founded in 1967, the University of Stirling is a stunning, medium-sized campus situated in the heart of Scotland. The Guardian University Guide summed it up nicely when it asked, "Where else can you study on the shores of loch, by an 18th century castle, beneath rolling hills?" With 115 nations represented on campus, ISA students will not only meet locals, but a large student body from around the world. Beyond the beautiful location, the university is known for its quality of teaching, excellent research and friendly atmosphere.

ISA students studying at the University of Stirling have the opportunity to take classes in a variety of subjects.

Popular areas of study include:
  • Sport Studies
  • Biological Science
  • English Studies
  • History
  • Computer Science
  • Social Science
  • Humanities
  • Business

ISA students will have the convenience of living near or on campus, with a frequent bus service running between the city center and the university. Students will have access to campus cafes, libraries, computer labs, and health facilities. In addition, the University of Stirling has been named Scotland's University for Sporting Excellence with its exceptional and very modern sporting facilities. Many of the national teams practice right in the city and on campus to get them prepared for the athletic season. In keeping with the Scottish tradition in golf, the university has its own 9-hole golf course and driving range with other 5 star rated facilities located around the campus.

The University of Stirling was selected as the Scottish University of the Year in 2009/10 and is consistently ranked high in student satisfaction. According to the QS World University Rankings, the University of Stirling ranks in the top 2.5% of global higher education institutions.
