Housing Information

Students have the opportunity to experience aspects of the Cape Town lifestyle that are inaccessible to the average visitor of South Africa. All housing options are approximately 15 minutes away from UCT campus via UCT shuttle bus and 35 minutes away from UWC via public bus. (NOTE: This applies to semester students ONLY.)

Summer Cape Town students will live with other ISA students in guest housing located close to campus (during session 1) and UCT's Graca Machel house on campus during session 2.

The experience of living in another culture will be both educational and rewarding so long as you stay open-minded and reasonable. There are differences in culture and lifestyle between life in South Africa and the U.S. that will quickly become apparent upon your arrival. Remember: the key to a positive experience is flexibility!

Students Residence:
Students will usually be housed in single room or double rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Coin-operated laundry facilities are located on the bottom floor. Meals and laundry service are not included.

A $500 refundable security deposit will be charged to students living in ISA arranged housing. ISA may retain some, or all, of this deposit in the case of damage to property.
