Semester + Semester Programs Available: Students may participate in the Fall + Spring session of this program by selecting their two semesters of interest when submitting the initial ISA online application. For more information about this option, please contact your South Korea Program Manager.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

  • All students must have a passport that is valid for at least six months after the end of their program to be accepted into the program. Students who do not yet have a passport MUST apply for one as soon as possible and may need to pay for expedited processing to ensure that they have a passport by the application deadline.
  • Students must submit college transcripts showing they have completed at least two semesters and have sophomore standing with an overall GPA of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale at all higher education institutions attended (community college, college, or university) at the time of application to the program. Effective Fall 2017, Korea University will not make any exceptions to the requirement. Freshman students are encouraged to apply for ISA programs at Konkuk University or Pusan National University, which will accept Freshman applicants. Please contact the ISA Seoul Program Manager for more information.
  • Korea University strictly enforces this admission requirement. Therefore, no exceptions can be made to the GPA requirement or the two-semester rule under any circumstances. Please contact the ISA Seoul Program Manager with any questions.

Along with their standard ISA application, students also submit

  • a letter of recommendation from an academic reference,
  • a letter of intent,
  • color passport copy,
  • profile photo,
  • Korea University student oath.
Students will receive detailed instructions for these application materials in their ISA student portal after submitting their initial ISA online application. Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.

Please reference fall and spring course lists as not all courses are taught during both semesters.

Availability of courses is based on enrollment numbers. All students should seek pre-approval for alternate courses in the event of last minute class cancellations

Please note that some courses with locals have recommended prerequisite courses. It is the student's responsibility to consult any recommended prerequisites prior to enrolling in their course.
