This program is ideal for students with a background in design, or for students with little design experience, but who have an interest in taking graphic design or visual arts courses in English. Additionally, this program allows students to enroll in a Spanish language course.

Track A
Students without a background in design will be required to take the three mandatory graphic design courses and can round out their enrollment with either one other design and visual art course option, or a Spanish language course.

Track B
Students with a background in design have the option of selecting four courses from the graphic design and visual arts course offering list, or they may choose to take three courses from this list, along with a Spanish language class.

Any student who chooses to enroll in a Spanish language course will be required to take an official placement exam online prior to arrival in Barcelona.

*Students participating in the Design & Visual Arts program will take courses at the UPF ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering. ELISAVA is a design school affiliated with Universitat Pompeu Fabra and is located on La Rambla in the center of Barcelona. Please reach out to your ISA site specialist with any questions.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

There is no language prerequisite for this program.

Students with no background in design and are completing Track A are required to present both a Curriculum Vitae as well as a letter of intent. These will be reviewed by the staff of the UPF ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering in order to accept a student.
