This program offers interdisciplinary courses in design and technology, and engineering while also allowing students to explore Spanish and Basque culture and language. Courses in the fields of computer science, business, and engineering are available in English while language and culture courses are available in Spanish for all language levels. Classes such as Spanish through Gastronomy, Sports Management: European Football, and Basque Culture & Language take advantage of Bilbao?s unique geography and culture to generate tangible interaction with course material.

Students with an Advanced language level can also enroll in an optional internship or Service-Learning course. Internships are available in the fields of business, engineering, and education and allow students to learn more about local institutions while gaining professional experience. Please note that internships are subject to an additional fee of $250. In the Service-Learning course, students will explore themes in social justice through community service. This is a great option for students who hope to give back to the host community while engaging more deeply with local culture.

All courses in this program are taught at the Universidad de Deusto?s beautiful and centrally-located Bilbao campus, right across the river from the famous Guggenheim museum. Most courses on this program are held with other international students, though ISA students also have the option to enroll in one additional class with local students after arriving on-site.
