Intensive Spanish Language

This program offers students the opportunity to hone their Spanish language abilities by taking a 90 contact hour intensive Spanish language course focusing on the skills of writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Students may enroll in overlapping, back to back summer sessions, allowing them to complete 12 credits or 180 contact hours of Spanish. Students will be in class with international students, the majority of whom are North American. All classes are taught by host university faculty at the Centro de Lenguas Modernas at the University of Granada.Gap Year students are also eligible for this program. Service-Learning placements are coordinated by ISA and have no affiliation with the university. Students will develop a Portfolio throughout the program, documenting their projects, hours, and program activities.
Students can earn 1-6 credits based on the number of contact hours accrued at the host organization and successful completion of the Portfolio. Visit the Academic Credit page of the ISA Service-Learning website for more information.

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
Students must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Granada. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. This program is well-suited to students at all levels of Spanish language proficiency.
