For students pursuing careers in education or teaching, this program allows students to take education-specific courses alongside completing an internship at a local school. This internship allows students to teach English as a foreign language for two hours a week gaining hands-on experience working with students and faculty. Courses are taught by host university faculty at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, alongside other ISA and international students.
Students are required to enroll in the Second Language Acquisition: Theory and Practice course. The rest of their classes can be selected from Education Courses in English or from the full course offering in ISA's International Studies, Business & Spanish Language semester/year program.
All students take a placement exam upon arrival to determine their Spanish language proficiency level. Exam results may determine eligibility for course enrollment.
Advanced level Spanish speakers may choose to add on a Two-Week Intensive Spanish Language course for an additional fee. For more information, clickhere.
This program was initially designed for academic year students. Please visit theAcademic Year page for more information.
