ISA Cancellation Policies
ISA by WorldStrides: Study Abroad Program Cancellation Policy
This policy applies to all cancellations, regardless of the reason. This does not apply to programs within the ISA Internships division. Your request to withdraw and receive a refund must be made in writing to ISA. The $95 application deposit is non-refundable. If your application is denied due to eligibility requirements, your deposit will be fully refunded. Alternative payment arrangements (financial aid, payment plans, etc.) do not exempt you from this policy.
If you withdraw from the program on or before the ISA original payment due date, you are liable for the $95 application deposit.
If you withdraw 1-9 days after the ISA original payment due date, you are liable for $750 plus costs incurred by ISA on your behalf.
If you withdraw 10-20 days after the ISA original payment due date, you are liable for $1,250 plus costs incurred by ISA on your behalf. Summer program participants are liable for $1,000 plus costs incurred by ISA on your behalf.
If you withdraw 21 or more days after the ISA original payment due date but prior to the final deadline for withdrawal, you are liable for $1,750 plus costs incurred by ISA on your behalf. Summer program participants are liable for $1,500 plus costs incurred by ISA on your behalf.
The final deadline to withdraw from any ISA program is 14 days prior to the start date of the program. If you withdraw after this deadline, regardless of the reason for withdrawal, you are not eligible for any refund from ISA.
Signing and returning all documents in your student portal is your responsibility. If you fail to return the documents after repeated notification (email or call), you will be deemed withdrawn and will not be eligible for any refund.
Housing deposits and housing confirmation fees are non-refundable after the ISA original payment due date. If purchased, the ISA withdrawal protection fee is non-refundable after the ISA original payment due date.
If you change or defer to another ISA program after your ISA original payment due date, but prior to the final deadline to withdraw, ISA will assess a $500 change fee plus costs incurred. Program changes are not permitted 1-14 days prior to the start of the program. Prior to your official acceptance, please refrain from booking flights for your program. ISA reserves the right to adjust program dates to accommodate host university calendar changes and is not responsible for airline fare or ticket change fees incurred by program participants.

ISA by WorldStrides: COVID-19 Pre-Departure Program Cancellation Policy
If ISA is required to cancel or suspend your program before your program start date, you’ll have:
- The option to consider an alternative ISA program at a new location using your existing application and any paid fees
- The option to attend your preferred ISA program at a later term, waiving any change fee.
- The option to not attend any program and instead receive a full refund of your ISA Program Fees paid (including your application and program deposits)
If you’ve received an ISA scholarship, it can be applied to a new program or term.

If ISA has to cancel a program while it’s already running, we cannot guarantee a refund but will work closely with our partners and onsite staff to:
- Recover any associated program costs that can be returned to the furthest extent possible
- Present all available options to complete the academic requirements of your program, if possible
- Be in direct communication with you and your home institution
Internships Cancellation Policies
Internships: Intern Abroad Cancellation Policy
This policy applies to all cancellations, regardless of the reason. Your request to withdraw and receive a refund must be made in writing to ISA. Alternative payment arrangements (financial aid, payment plans, etc.) do not exempt you from this policy.
1. If you withdraw on or before the Payment Due Date:
- Before your advising session: $95 application deposit retained
- After your advising session: $500 retained
2. If you withdraw after the Payment Due Date:
- Before your advising session: $95 application deposit retained
- After your advising session:
- Before receiving an internship:
- 30 days or more before the program start date: $500 retained
- 29 days before the program start date: $95 application deposit retained*,**
- 28-15 days before the program start date: $1,000 retained**
- After receiving an internship:
- 60 days or more before the program start date: $1,000 retained
- 59-30 days before the program start date: $2,500 retained
- 29-15 days before the program start date: $3,500 retained
- 14 days or less before the program start date: 100% of program price retained
- Before receiving an internship:
*If you have not received an internship or completed any interviews 29 days before the program start date, you may withdraw without assessing any additional cancellation fees. The $95 application deposit is non-refundable.
**If you have failed two or more interviews and decide to withdraw 29 days before the program start date, a $1000 cancellation fee will be assessed.
***If you decide to continue the internship search between 15-28 days before the program start date, you will be liable for $1000 should you withdraw during that period. Additionally, if you do not receive an internship or complete any interviews 15 days before your program start date, we will automatically withdraw you from the program. The $1000 cancellation fee will apply.
- Should the date of withdraw overlap multiple rows in the schedule above, the cancellation fee retained will be whichever amount is greater.
- The $95 application deposit is non-refundable once the application has been submitted. If your application is denied due to eligibility requirements, your deposit will be fully refunded.
- Housing deposits are non-refundable should a student withdraw after the final payment deadline and before the program start date.
- If a student changes or defers to another one of our programs after the final payment deadline but no later than 30 days prior to the program start date, we will assess a $500 change fee, and the cancellation fee (according to schedule above) will be applied as a non-refundable payment toward the alternative program.
- Program changes are not permitted less than 30 days prior to a program start date.

EuroScholars Cancellation Policies
About the Policy
Starting with the Spring 2022 semester, this policy applies to all EuroScholars cancellations, regardless of the reason. Your request to withdraw and receive a refund must be made in writing (an email is sufficient) to ISA. The $95 application deposit is non-refundable. If your application is denied due to eligibility requirements, your deposit will be fully refunded. Alternative payment arrangements (financial aid, payment plans, etc.) do not exempt you from this policy. All students sign this cancellation policy during submission of their online application.
If you withdraw from the program after you have paid the $95 application deposit and before your application has been referred for placement:
Cancellation Period
- If you withdraw from the program on or before the ISA original payment due date, you are liable for the $95 application deposit.
- If you withdraw after the ISA original payment due date and more than 90 days prior to your program start date, you are liable for cancellation charges of $500
- If you withdraw after the ISA original payment due date and 61-90 days prior to your program start date, you are liable for cancellation charges of $850
- If you withdraw after the ISA original payment due date and 31-60 days prior to your program start date, you are liable for cancellation charges of $2500
- If you withdraw after the ISA original payment due date and 15-30 days prior to your program start date, you are liable for cancellation charges of $4500
- If you withdraw 14 days prior to the start date of the program or if you withdraw after this deadline, regardless of the reason for withdrawal, you are not eligible for any refund.
Additional Considerations
Signing and returning all documents in your student portal is your responsibility. If you fail to return the documents after repeated notification (email or call), you will be deemed withdrawn and will not be eligible for any refund.
Program dates will be arranged by the program participant and the host institution staff/faculty on an individual basis following acceptance. The host institution reserves the right to adjust program dates to accommodate host university calendar changes.
Prices and dates are subject to change without notice. In case of established force majeure, the EuroScholars Executive Board reserves the right to deviate from this policy.
