Overview
This course combines elements of chemical engineering process design covered in 2nd and 3rd year courses within a dedicated design project around a chemical process unit. Special focus is on the design of reactor and separation units and how they integrate within a process unit. The project entails 4 stages:
- data collection, conceptual design, flowsheeting
- reactor design
- separation unit design
- overall process analysis
Each stage will be presented in an intermediate technical report, followed by a summary report.
