Overview
This course aims to develop the knowledge and skills for engineering drawing. Topics include: Use of drawing instruments, plane geometry; principles of: orthographic projection; pictorial projection; auxiliary projection; s
ections; the measurement of areas; descriptive geometry of points, lines and planes in space; and provides an introduction to the basics of CAD.DP requirements: Completed portfolio.
Assessment: 3 Hour practical drawing examination in June (50%); CAD (10%); Discipline Specific Module (20%); weekly portfolio submissions (20%). A minimum of 50% is required to pass this course. There is no supplementary examination for this course.
