Main Outcomes At the end of the module students will be able to:
· Explain the main processes active in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and
lithosphere.Main Content · The Earth?s atmosphere and radiation balance
· The Earth?s global wind circulation
· Atmospheric circulation and weather over South Africa
· The hydrological cycle
· Drainage basin characteristics
· Surface and subsurface water
· Fluvio-geomorphic processes and landforms
· Weathering and mass wasting
· Structural landforms and earthquakesBreakdown of Learning Time:
Contact with lecturer / tutor: 56 hours, 3 3-hour lectures per week
Assignments & tasks: 8 hours, 1 practical per week
Practicals: 42 hours, 1 tutorial per week
Assessments: 10 hours
