Main Outcomes
Students will apply central concepts and tools for analyzing gender identities and struggles in South Africa. Students will understand the interdisciplinary analysis of gendered dynamics in contemporary and historical gendered dynamics. Students will develop critical positions on debates through constructing sustained arguments.
Main Content
Case studies of contemporary and past gender struggles and identities in South Africa. Key concepts and theories for exploring gender in South Africa within history, anthropology,psychology and literary studies.
