Overview
Course Description
The course explores the relationship between human actions, technology, and moral and ethical norms of society as well as individuals. It considers civic and professional ethics, business needs in context of organizations and stakeholders and the way technology takes over many roles previously performed by humans. Ethical dilemmas are reviewed using well known ethics theories.Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:
–Identify and evaluate ethical issues technology bring to society;
–Understand the role and responsibility of IT professionals in dealing with ethical dilemmas;
–Recognize potential ethical dilemmas related to organizational business strategy and provide recommendations;
–Address current issues related to privacy,censorship and freedom of expression in relation to ethical dilemmas;
–Understand the concepts of cybercrime and cyber security as threats to society.
