Overview
Course Content:
This module introduces students to some of the major theories and ideas of
psychological science in core areas of research, such as of cognitive, biological, social,
developmental and individual differences.This module will allow students to acquire a broad foundation of knowledge of these
core areas, as well as many specialist sub-areas of psychology. Students will be taught a
comprehensive overview of the scientific and conceptual foundations of psychology, and
the historical development of psychology as a scientific discipline.Autumn Semester summary:

2 hour weekly lectures, and six 2 hour seminars over the course of the semesters.Assessment:
STUDY OPTION 1:
? 1,000-word literature review (50%)
? One hour final exam ? short essay questions (50%)

? 1 hour short-answer essay-type questions.Study Option 1 = Whole Year
