Course Content:
Managers have traditionally regarded human resource management (HRM) as a
necessary evil, rather than a source of value to an organization. However, recent
research challenges this view: HR practices can be an organization?s source of
competitive advantage. Indeed, decisions such as whom to hire, how much to pay, what
training to offer (if any), and how to evaluate employees affects employees? ability to
provide the goods and/or services to clients. This module examines the various HRM
policies and practices organisations can employ. It demonstrates how they can be
intertwined to create an environment in which employees are satisfied and perform well.Topics covered include:
