  • Overview

    Course Content:

    This module provides the opportunity to develop musical creativity through the study of
    performance. Access is restricted to those who have achieved ABRSM grade 8 on their
    instrument or voice or to those who can demonstrate equivalent skills.

    Students will receive 12 hours of individual instrumental/vocal lessons supported by 22
    hours of lectures and workshops on aspects of performance practice, presentation and
    the assessment of performance. The development of strong and robust performing
    techniques is a requirement of this route.

    STUDY OPTION 1:
    Portfolio of performance work:
    ? A practice diary indicating full attendance and participation in individual lessons
    (20%)
    ? A full record of attendance at and contribution to a staff-led performance
    ensemble (20%)
    ? An examination of a range of appropriate technical skills (20%)
    ? A public performance examination of no more than 10 minutes duration held
    towards the end of the academic year (40%)
