Overview
An introduction to Botany and especially to medicinal plants, with instruction on identification and use of a floral key, quality assessment, horticulture and collection methods, sustainability and ethical uses. The module provides an introduction to basic plant sciences, anatomy, physiology, phytochemistry and taxonomy, with a focus on key medicinal plant families. There are opportunities to study plants in living collections and natural habitats and in museum collections.
Assessment: In-class test (40%) ; Written Report (60%).
