  • Overview

    The module provides the student with the necessary knowledge and practical experience in coping with information science and intelligent technologies on the Web. The module focusses on looking at the Web as an ecosystem of producers and consumers of data, information and knowledge to be shared and communicated. To this extent, the module provides the student with Web data and knowledge representation and description languages, as well as information retrieval, extraction and mining techniques, in order to use the Web as a reasonable information repository for scientific and business/industrial applications.
    Assessment: Coursework (50%) and Examination (50%)
    *All transcripts are issued in UK credits.
