Overview
Assessment: patchwork text (4000 words equiv.)
This module sets out to explore the professional role in work with young children and families. At this current time in the UK a high focus on the needs of young children has resulted in the spending of £13b of government funding over the past seven years. It is important and timely that students of an early childhood programme such as this are well informed regarding characteristics of the professional role; have addressed issues around the necessarily political nature of work in the field; and are prepared to take on a role of advocacy where the well-being of children is concerned.
