Overview
Assessment: essay (2500 words) [100%]
The health of the public has advanced rapidly over the course of the last century, and Public health and Health promotion have become central to health services planning, policy development and political agendas. This module examines aspects of why these areas are so important and the historical, political and practical implications they hold. The World Health Organisation?s Commission on Social Determinants of Health established a vital link between social and structural constraints and health inequalities. This module aims to provide students with a critical theoretical and empirical basis for understanding health in the public arena.
