Overview
Assessment: glossary (approx. 2500 words) [60%], analytic commentary (1500 words) [40%] [both elements must be passed]
Confident, informed practitioners working with young children require a deep understanding of how young children learn and knowledge of the growth of their thinking and understanding. This module builds on a range of study for other modules on the programme, and critically examines significant research and theory on children's thinking and understanding, and relates this to practice. It aims to enable students to develop an informed and articulate rationale for appropriate provision and practice.
