    Assessment: either essay (4000 words) [100%] or essay (3000 words) [80%] with evidence base (equivalent to 1000 words) [20%]
    This module takes a critical look at the culture of the primary school and the children?s experience of the primary school. It focuses on the theories, practices and external factors, past, and present (e.g. child-centred education, the National Curriculum) which have constructed primary school culture. The module considers aspects of primary schooling such as approaches to learning, life in the playground and images of the primary teacher.
