This module is designed to provide an understanding of the tree of life, and covers key aspects of the evolution, anatomy, morphology and physiology of major taxonomic groups. An understanding of the biology of living organisms and the adaptations that they show to a range of tasks and environments is essential to achieving a breadth of knowledge in biology. In addition to interactive lectures, it incorporates practical sessions that will enable students to be trained in a range of laboratory techniques.
