Overview
Assessment: commercial proposal (up to 3000 words ? precise length depends on genre chosen) [50%], analytical essay [50%]
[both components must be attempted; an overall pass is required]
This is the third of a series of writing contexts modules for creative writing students. In the final year of study, the focus shifts to the wider context in which all writers work: the world of editors, agents, critics, publishers, producers, distributors, marketers and sellers who shape the market and act as gatekeepers to the reading or viewing public. This module also provides a chance to meet some of those professionals and to gain an insight into the creative industries.
