Module descriptionInternational human rights laws have played an enormously influential role in protecting the activities of both individuals and groups against infringement by the state, but this protection has been challenged in recent times.You will cover the key issues of the debates surrounding International Human Rights Law, whilst linking this will relevant site visits and suitable supporting media. You?ll gain valuable insight into the most topical and controversial aspects of human rights law within the broader historical and theoretical contexts, as well as becoming familiar with the main instruments of international human rights law, and learn how to conduct basic legal research in the human rights field.By successfully completing this module, you will become confident in critically analysing whether these interferences or limitations can be justified.Teaching patternLecturesSeminars & TutorialsLondon walks and visits to key institutionsPrivate StudyModule assessmentOne essay of 2500 words (80%)Presentation of 10 minutes (15%)
