Overview
Credits: 15.0Overlap: NonePrerequisite: NoneThrough a detailed examination of a number of contemporary Hollywood movies this module aims to foster an understanding of the network of forces that have shaped Hollywood production from the late 1970s to the present day. We will be interrogating contemporary Hollywood movies in order to describe changes in the US film industry since the decline of the studio system and to profile some of the ways in which Hollywood reflects and interacts with American culture and society. This module will be assessed through the production of a 'film note' in which you will select a film of your own choice and across three written assignments situate the film within its industrial and cultural context. The module is research-based and requires a significant commitment to independent study.Assessment: 100.0% CourseworkLevel: 6
