Prerequisite: NoneThis module will introduce the students to the wide range of research methods and approaches that can be applied to investigate human cognition, emotion and behaviour. The module will provide an overview of the research that is conducted in Psychology at Queen Mary, University of London through a series of lectures on a range of topics, such as vocal communication in mammals, language and emotions in multicultural society, human cultural evolution, psychobiology of sexuality, economics of sociality, visual information processing and blindness, and decision-making in everyday contexts. The topics are unified in their focus on demonstrating how biological framework and experimental methods enable us to develop an increasingly sophisticated and complex understanding of human psychology.
