Credits: 15.0Overlap: NonePrerequisite: NoneThis is a compulsory module for English Language and Linguistics students which provides students with (i) a knowledge of basic descriptive grammatical terms and how they are used in the study of English; (ii) a knowledge of the core grammatical constructions of English; (iii) a set of tools to use in tackling the structure of English sentences; (iv) an understanding of and ability to use basic descriptive tools such as tree structures and transformations in analysing the grammar of English. This module is a pre-requisite for LIN037 Explaining Grammatical Structure.Assessment: 100.0% CourseworkLevel: 4
