Prerequisite: MTH5112The theory of error-correcting codes uses concepts from algebra, number theory and probability to ensure
accurate transmission of information through noisy communication links. Basic concepts of coding theory.
Decoding and encoding. Finite fields and linear codes. Hamming codes. Parity checks. Preliminary algebra on
vector spaces and finite fields will be included in the module.Assessment: 100.0% Examination
