Prerequisite: NoneThis module provides an introduction to the modelling and analysis of one-degree-of-freedom mechanical systems. It includes analysis of the motion (kinematics) of particles. It then goes on to deal with the forces causing these motions (kinetics) by the application of Newton's laws of motion. After this methods for the solution of the differential equation describing the equation of motion and one-degree-of-freedom vibrations will be studied and this will be applied to the description of vibrations of onedegree-of-freedom mechanical systems.
