Prerequisite: ECS401UThis module introduces the issues that must be considered in designing a website and the tools that can be used in website design and construction. By the end of the module students will be able to:
Understand the principles of designing for websites for a range of user groups
Evaluate existing websites for functionality, navigation, user-experience and produce recommendations for improvement
Collect requirements and generate design prototypes
Develop and improve websites based on evaluations of existing sites
Be confident using various software tools that can be used for website design and development
Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their own website designs
Understand the principles underlying modern web technologies including HTML5 and SVGAssessment: 70.0% Examination, 30.0% Coursework
