    1 / General objectives of the course:
    This course will allow you to discover the socio-economic news in France and to acquire the tools to analyze and comment on it.

    2 / Pedagogical approach of the teacher
    In order to develop their skills of understanding and expression, students will be encouraged to implement communication strategies from an intercultural perspective: training in the exchange of views, advocacy and compromise Analyzes based on the understanding of press articles, video and audio documents on socio-economic news).

    Three production notes:
    Note 1: Oral presentation in class
    Note 2: Continuous monitoring
    Note 3: End-of-semester review
    Note 4 of attendance and participation: Assiduity, initiative, responsiveness, relevance of interventions
    Each note takes into account knowledge and expression in French.
    Attendance at table controls is mandatory to obtain the certificate.

    6 / Attendance, punctuality
    Attendance: any absence must be justified. Above 3 absences during the semester (no certificate can be issued).
    Punctuality: Significant and frequent delays will be recorded in non-excused absences.
    Regular work is needed to make progress. Duties must be made and returned on the requested day.

    The received ideas about the French economy. Main economic indicators. The diversity of territories, the great Paris as an example.
    The definition of the power of a State: alongside the classic criteria of power (army, economy ...) appeared more subjective factors (image, attractiveness ...). Strengths and weaknesses of the social and economic situation of France.
