Music repertory from the 20th and 21st centuries; focus on formal layout, harmony, rhythm and melody; instrumentation; Sibelius software programme
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:
-write non-diatonic chords in 4 and 5 parts.
-incorporate changing time signatures within a continuous pattern.
-transcribe a piece of music on to the notation programme Sibelius.
-construct a consistent compositon in 20th century musical language of 2-3 minutes duration.Teaching & Learning methods:
