Overview
Study of a representative literary work and of extracts from post-colonial studies of French speaking African countries.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:
- Define the relationship (political, cultural, economic and educational) between France and its former colonies in Africa.
- Discuss the specific characteristics of literature written in French by authors from sub-Saharan Africa.
- Demonstrate awareness of the situation of and extent of use of the French language in Africa since decolonisation.Teaching & Learning Methods:
