Overview
German is an important language in the world of business, economics and finance, and this module will be of particular interest to students who are thinking of making a career in this area. It will focus on introducing students to the language skills appropriate for a German-language business environment. Skills to be covered include reading and summarising authentic texts such as reports in German; communicating about business-related topics in person and on the phone; writing emails, letters and reports in German. It will also offer some background information on the business world in the German-speaking countries.
