Overview
Module Objective:
To introduce the student to linear algebra.Vector spaces over the rationals, reals and complex numbers; basis and dimension; linear maps; rank and nullity; eigenvalues and eigenvectors; diagonalisation; dual spaces; inner product spaces.
Learning Outcomes:
-Define a vector space.
-Obtain a basis and the dimension of a vector space.
-Explain the terms rank and nullity.
-Find eigenvalues and vectors.
-Define dual and inner products spaces.
-Deduce simple properties from any definitions given in the course.
-Use the methods from the course to solve problems.
