Requirements: An introductory module in Business Management such as AERD20030 or equivalent.
Recommended: Students should have a sound basic understanding of livestock and crop production enterprises common to Irish farms. In particular, this should include knowledge of popular terminolgy relating to farm production enterprises.

Overview
The focus of the module is on providing students with a working knowledge of techniques and principles of farm business financial analysis, planning and strategic decision-making. The module content includes: operational and strategic principles of farm business management; preparation and analysis of farm management accounts; application of farm planning techniques: enterprise, partial, breakeven and whole farm budgets; farm financial control and cash flow budgeting; assessment and management of risk in farm decision-making.
