Leadership and Change Management

Change affects all types of organisations within the public or private sectors. Forces for change continue to grow and pace of change is accelerating at an ever increasing rate. Organisations need to develop the skills, structures and technologies to manage complex technical and social systems and to develop flexibility and adaptability in the face of an increasingly unpredictable environment. his programme is designed to introduce participants to the theories and practical skills of leading and managing change in contemporary organisations reflective of operating in an internal or external consultative capacity. It explores the hard (structure and strategy) and soft (people) issues of leading the change process from the initial consultative diagnostic through to the design of interventions to inform and guide organisations to their optimal operative changed state.
Students engage in live research and consultation with organisations transitioning through a real change flux. We draw on past and current research as well as current expert experience of implementing change. We will plot development of change theory from Organisation Development 1950's to the current dynamics of the global environment. Participants tend to come from a wide range of international cultural and educational backgrounds which is highly facilitative of the global perspective of the change environment.
