Overview
This module introduces the student to the relationship between the built and natural environments in the context of sustainability. It approaches the subject through theory and analysis with application. The module considers architecture in a broad environmental context with an emphasis on sustainability and the pursuit of comfort. Course topics include: environmental concepts, landscape & site ecology, natural resources, comfort, climate, wind and shelter, shading and solar access. The module is delivered through lectures and is supported by research in the form of a project.
