Overview
This module is designed to acquaint students with different writing styles about music, addressing specialists as well as a general, non-academic audience. It will focus on text types inlcuding CD liner notes, concert review, album review book review. In class, students will analyse the structures and styles of these genres before setting out to write articles themselves. Two weeks will be allocated to studying each type of text, with the first week dedicated to analysing model examples, and the second week focusing on discussing students' draft texts.
