Overview
The objective of the course is to extend the students? understanding of software program design and development in fourth generation languages and/or relational database management systems
(RDBMS); for example, Microsoft Access, ORACLE/SQL. The course syllabus may include the following topics: introduction to database theory; relational databases; database design; structured query language; database development using RDBMS software, such as Microsoft Access or ORACLE/SQL; transaction processing; data security; distributed computing; client/server and enterprise computing; object-oriented databases; current and emerging issues.
