Overview
This course teaches beginning students the fundamental principals and techniques of painting, focusing on oil painting with concentration on human figures and still-life. Students will learn the build-up of form, tone and color on a two-dimensional surface. Practical demonstrations are supplemented by slide lectures and visits to Florentine museums to view oil paintings first hand. Group and individual critiques are an integral part of the course.
