Overview
The aims of the course:
To explore the extent to which cinema and television have provided a space for the representation of both radical ideas and radical aesthetics.
To introduce students to a wide range of radical texts from French Surrealism to Soviet Montage, from Hollywood to Third Cinema, analysing feature films, documentaries and television dramas
To examine what is at stake in the attempt to challenge mainstream aesthetic norms and political ideologies
