Overview
The module covers the causation, function, development and evolution of animal behaviour. Topics coveredinclude natural selection, inclusive fitness, group-living, individual differences (or personality), the evolution ofsex, sexual strategies, mating systems, and the evolution of intelligence and human cognition. Non-humanprimates are given special emphasis with reference to implications for humans. Students gain experience ofdesigning and conducting an observational study of animals.
