Overview
The aim of this module is to introduce students to the theory and practice of advertising. The first part of the module will focus on the key stages in the production of an ad campaign. This will include the role of the creative brief, ways in which ads target very specific audiences, and the different media used in campaigns. In the second part of the module topics covered will include the role of branding, how advertising creates meaning, issues of regulation, and arguments for and against advertising (both economic and social).
