Overview
This module will provide students with an early engagement with some of the key thematic concepts of Historywhich they will encounter in later modules and in their own independent studies, though it will nevertheless stillhave broad appeal to those not interested in taking History as a degree subjects. Tutorials and lecture themeswill include gender, race revolutions, urban and rural transformation, environment, conflict and empire. Themodule links in with other modules in the programme where in semester 3 Reputations in History providesanother thematic foundation before we break out into more specialised geographical and chronological studiesfrom semster 4 onwards.
